Enjoy a picnic on the waterfront and dazzling views of the Puget Sound and the Olympics as Broadway Center and Chambers Creek Foundation present the Grand Opening Celebration of Chambers Creek Central Meadow. Chambers Creek Foundation is the charitable partner working with Pierce County to transform a reclaimed gravel pit into a magnificent regional treasure: the new Central Meadow at Chambers Creek Properties.
Judy Collins has thrilled audiences worldwide with her unique blend of interpretative folksongs and contemporary themes. Her impressive career has spanned more than 40 years. Collins is noted for her rendition of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" on her classic 1967 album, Wildflowers, which has been entered into the Grammy® Hall of Fame. Today, Collins continues creating music of hope and healing that lights up the world and speaks to the heart. In this special appearance, Collins will perform with Tacoma’s only full-scale professional orchestra, Tacoma Symphony Orchestra featuring Maestro Harvey Felder. Jonatha Brooke is a leading singer-songwriter in folk rock. Nora Guthrie, daughter of Woody Guthrie, invited Jonatha to peruse the Guthrie "archives" and the result is a wonderful album of new songs with never before heard words of Woody Guthrie. Billboard Magazine calls Jonatha Brooke "one of the most gifted and unique artists of the decade".
